3 Fall Los Angeles Events You Won’t Want to Miss

The cool winds are starting to blow and leaves are taking on new tones, signaling that fall is upon us in California. If you’re looking for ways to get into the seasonal spirit, there are plenty of things to see and do near Los Angeles that will help you get in the mood to celebrate. Here are four of the best fall events that you don’t want to miss checking out this Fall:

Annual Fall Harvest Festival

Get into the seasonal mood with a trip to the pumpkin patch, where you can pick your own gourds to take home and carve or just have an extended photo shoot to share on social media. Going into its 21st year of celebrating the season, Underwood Family Farms in Moorpark is a popular choice with locals, thanks to the extensive schedule of activities throughout the month.

In addition to tractor rides and a corn maze, there’s often live music and a selection of food vendors serving up old-fashioned favorites like kettle corn and shaved ice. Open from 9 to 6 every day of the week through October, the festival is also budget-friendly, with prices ranging from $5-20 depending on the date.

Dark Harbor At The Queen Mary

If you prefer to celebrate fall with a healthy scare to get you in the seasonal mood, the Queen Mary provides an authentically scary experience. The iconic ship, that is now a floating hotel, has long been rumored to be teeming with ghosts of souls who perished there. In fact, it was named as one of the most haunted places in America.

With mazes with plenty of scary characters inside, live music, and haunted bars, it’s more intense (and fun!) than any horror movie you’ve ever seen. The Queen Mary is located at the port at Long Beach, and Dark Harbor runs until the start of November.

Learn All About Insects At The Natural History Museum

Always an interesting place to visit with tons of interesting information, the Natural History Museum is a must-see for insect lovers this fall, as two of the most complex insects take center stage. Visit the spider pavilion to learn more about our eight-legged friends and see species from all around the world, running now until Nov. 25. While you’re there, you can also visit the newly revamped Dinosaur Exhibit, a world leader in information about the Prehistoric age.

Oktoberfest

If you want to celebrate in the classic German style, you’re in luck. There are multiple Oktoberfest celebrations in the LA area this year. With some running until the first weekend of November, there’s plenty of time to get your Lederhosen out. In addition to the Downtown LA Oktoberfest, you can travel up to Big Bear to celebrate along the lake, jet over to Burbank, or hit the longest running Oktoberfest in Alpine Village.

Ruben Medina arrived on time and quickly surveyed the situation from our description and the conditions and determined the likely cause of the problem. He was friendly but professional and efficient, confirming the cause and dealing with a part which had failed. After replacing it, he made sure through restarting and subsequent testing that the system was operating normally.

Let me state, first, that it would be an injustice to limit my comments about the service we have received from Brody Pennell to what has been provided by Rosendo Valdez, and the two fellows of his installation crew on January 2nd. I have to add the initial contact we had with technician, Daniel, and his manager, Brett. Collectively, these five gentlemen were not only excellent representatives of the company, they were also great lightening rods for the practice of customer serve in general. In all cases, their professionalism was tempered with culture of care, comfort, and concern for what we needed and what the company could provide, all in an effort to close the gap between where we were when we initially contacted Brody Pennell and where we wished to be in addressing the issue with heating our home. The character of their work easily surpassed the goal of meeting the needs of our household, going hand in hand with meeting their responsibilities as company employees providing a product to the public.

Juan Carbajal Brody Pennell was friendly, professional and thorough. He replaced all blower parts for our home HVAC and installed the entire unit efficiently and tested temperatures at vents upon completion.
I recommend him highly!

The technical staff at Brody and Pennell are experienced, knowledgeable, and communicate very well. They will investigate and answer any questions without difficulty. They clean and inspect older HVAC equipment, recommend upgrades or replacements, and install new gear rapidly and in excellent condition. The cost is higher but the quality is worth it.

My technician was very thorough and professional. He was very detailed in his inspection of the equipment and in letting me know his assessment. It was very easy to communicate with him and he was not bothered with any of the questions I had. Even though the company gave a discount for the service, I feel it was a very through inspection.
